The Laurel Residence

The Alloro Residence

Historical origins of the palace

The Residenza dell’Alloro is located inside the historic Palazzo Bellacera, also known as Palazzo San Gabriele.

  • 17th century → original construction by the Bellacera family, barons of Verbumcaudo.

  • 18th century → transfer to the Lo Faso di San Gabriele family, who renovated the façade and enriched the interiors in Baroque style.

The name of the street derives from the famous laurel tree that grew in the inner garden, still today a symbol of this connection with the city.

Baroque architecture and charm

The palace preserves important elements of Palermitan Baroque noble architecture:

  • monumental stone staircase,

  • rusticated stone portal, majestic and decorated,

  • balconies with sculpted brackets, typical of Sicilian Baroque,

  • inner courtyard, the heart of aristocratic residences.

Modern restorations have enhanced the historical heritage, transforming the palace into a welcoming and refined residence.

The Residence is divided into three independent apartments, each of which recalls a natural element:

  • Terra – single floor with living room, open kitchen and double bedroom; up to 4 guests.

  • Acqua – arranged on two levels with internal staircase; up to 5 guests.

  • Aria – also on two levels, with exclusive terrace; up to 5 guests.
